This systems automation is really clever and aesthetically looks great too. This is an amazing self contained metal refinery. That being said, I personally prefer to simply delete the heat from hot oil created by the metal refinery by hooking it up to my oil refinery with a liquid element sensor so that any time the metal refinery is outputting hot oil the oil refinery prioritizes consuming.

My early game solution for this is usually to put a small pool of PH2O (5X5 tiles is plenty) beside the refinery with a metal wall in between and a couple tempshift plates. Early on just pump in your waste water from toilets, sinks and terrariums (it should be around 20-30 o C) and put the output to a different pool outside the base (or insulated) so it won`t heat up the base. Should be enough for early applications.

The fact that the outputs just spill out into the outside world makes it a rather messy affair. My solution is a full head cover that creates a liquid lock when paired with the right automation.

When converting oil to petroleum in a refinery you will lose half of your mass: it inputs 10kg/s of oil and outputs 5kg/s of petroleum. Note: You can turn oil into petroleum with 100% efficiency by heating up the oil to just over 400C. Then, whatever amount of oil you heat up will become that same amount of petroleum.
