Lorch liegt am äußersten Westen des Rheingau-Taunus-Kreises an der Mündung der Wisper in den Rhein und ist die westlichste Gemeinde Hessens. Die Stadt befindet sich an den nordwestlichen Ausläufern des Rheingaugebirges, etwa zehn Kilometer nördlich des Rheinbogens am Binger Loch.
