Op vijf minuten rijden van LEGOLAND Billund ligt het nieuwe LEGO House. Een groot wit gebouw met diverse etages waar kinderen kunnen spelen, leren en creëren met LEGO-steentjes. Bij de balie wisselen we onze toegangskaartjes in voor een bandje om onze pols. Mijn naam en een geel wifi-teken staan op het bandje.

LEGO® came into being around 1930, when a Danish carpenter from Billund in Jutland fell on hard times building houses. He supplemented his trade making wooden toys and was so successful that he was soon only making his wooden building blocks. He called the company LEGO®, a mix of the Danish words for 'to play' - 'at lege' and 'good' - 'godt'.

Diverse reisorganisaties bieden bij het boeken van een trip naar LEGOLAND Billund Denemarken een Resort Pass aan waarmee je tijdens je verblijf (óók op de aankomst- en vertrekdag) onbeperkt toegang krijgt tot LEGOLAND, Lalandia en Givskud Zoo (een dierentuin op 20 autominuten van Billund). Deze pas kost €89 per persoon.

Het 'huis van de stenen' werd midden Billund gebouwd, vlakbij de werkplaats waar de eerste LEGO steentjes zijn ontworpen en gemaakt en vlak bij de huidige Deense fabriek. In september 2017 is het LEGO House officieel geopend. Met de kinderen hadden we de documentaire "LEGO House - Home of the brick" thuis al gekeken.
