From the car park, the Fairy Pools are around a 20-30 minute walk away on some rough terrain which also includes crossing the river.

Visiting Tips 1: Like most of Skye, this attraction gets very busy in the tourist season, so I recommend visiting in the off-peak months (May-June, September-October). 2: The walk to the Fairy Pools can be quite rugged and wet, especially if it has rained recently. Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots (link to boot reviews) are highly recommended.

The Fairy Pools are at the of the Black Cuillins near Glenbrittle. We can see beautiful crystal clear blue pools on the River Brittle. From the car park (£6 per entry), it is a 30 min walk to the Fairy Pools which really make fantastic photos / videos. This is one of the easiest walking trails in Isle of Skye, suitable for the young & old

The Fairy Pools are one of the most visited sites on the Isle of Skye of Scotland. Why? It's an easy walk along a series of small waterfalls with the Cuillin Mountains as a backdrop. We were here under less than ideal conditions. Once again, we awoke to cloudy, rainy skies. It drizzled off and on during the drive from Portree to the Fairy Pools.

The busiest times are in the summer months from 11am to 1pm. The off-grid toilet block has ladies, gents and disabled facilities. Entry to the toilets is free. The Walk From the car park there are impressive views out towards the Black Cuillins.

HOW TO GET THERE. The fairy pools of Glen Brittle are located in the south of the island. The large glen runs along the River Brittle and the fairy pools can be found at the river's source, at the foot of the Black Cuillins mountain range. The nearest village is Carbost on the B8009, which can be accessed by from the A863 off the A87.
