Mount Lindesay has been a dominant landmark for Aboriginal people over thousands of years. Europeans also were guided by it since their first visit in 1829.

The Mt Lindesay picnic area is quite a drive north of Denmark, and part of the roads needed to access the national park are gravel. So there is some driving required to get here, because it is quite a bit out of the way, and be prepared for some rough conditions, although it's certainly manageable with a 2WD.
